We respond to the needs of foreign capital companies located in Alava

In Alava there are over 130 companies with foreign capital, with a turnover of 7,500 million euros and 16,500 people employed directly. They account for almost 50% of the territory's GDP.

With the current turbulent political and economic situation, multinationals may be forced to restructure their activities, opting primarily for cutbacks in centres further away from their decision-making centres. It is therefore advisable to establish a system to monitor those located in Alava, for the preventive detection of incidents. Likewise, within the process of reindustrialisation that Europe is going to experience, it is advisable to transfer the production capacity of Alava to the parent companies of foreign capital.

The main goals of this programme are to:

  • Establish a system to maintain permanent contact with subsidiaries of foreign-owned companies.
  • Convey approachability at a key moment.
  • Detect the difficulties that these companies may face in time.
  • Detect the needs and concerns of foreign-owned companies and respond to them via the programme.

What does it consist of?

  • Identifying and contacting foreign capital companies located in Alava.
  • Creating a meeting point for multinationals located in Alava where they can share concerns, problems and good practices and explore possible synergies.
  • Supporting the multinationals present in the territory to as great an extent as possible.
  • Identifying and promoting the Alava’s strong point as a focus for foreign investment and producing deliverables for companies to share with decision-makers at their headquarters.
  • Identifying and mitigating the weaknesses of Alava as a focus for foreign investment.

Who can benefit from this?

The beneficiaries are the territory of Alava, as the aim is to strengthen the territory as a recipient of foreign investment and for the multinationals located here to gain in importance within their parent companies. The multinationals themselves are also beneficiaries as they are supported on various issues.
